Sydney's Angie brings super-saccharine pop in 'That Something' - leading up to full length album release.

Sydney-based singer/songwriter, Angie is preparing for the release of her debut full length album, ‘Some Things Get Left Behind’ - due on June 30 - unveiling a swag of singles in the lead up to the album’s launch, starting with the super-saccharine pop of ‘That Something’.

Recorded and produced at ScoopFX studios in Sydney with co-writer Stephen Kiely, with mixing and mastering by Spain-based Fabio Maiorano of La Masseria, the independent album is an eclectic mix of pop songs intended to capture feelings and moments in time.

‘That Something’ takes large cues from Carly Rae Jepson, bringing together lighthearted sweetness and acoustic playfulness, packed with pop bounce and sunshine-y strings. Packaged together with Angie’s innocent vocal delivery, ‘That Something’ is super-cute lustful pop.

Having moved from country NSW to Sydney at the age of 16 to pursue a music career, Angie has notched up accolades in songwriting competitions, both nationally and internationally, while honing her musical skills performing live in various venues around Sydney.

A chance encounter with producer Stephen Kiely resulted in the music-making partnership to create Angie’s debut album.

“I was lucky to work with Stephen, who is a talented multi-instrumentalist, and he played every instrument you hear on the album. When I decided to record an album, I had no idea how much time and work was involved or I may never have started. We had many interruptions to the recording process due to multiple COVID lockdowns stalling work on the album. Looking back, I am grateful for the interruptions which allowed me more time to learn and make changes,” she said.

Angie has also been working on songs with Queensland-based musician, singer, songwriter and producer, Roxley, which are due for release in August 2023.

But for now, take in ‘That Something’, along with a series of follow-up singles, leading all the way up to the release of ‘Some Things Get Left Behind’, available on streaming platforms now.
