GEORGIAXBYRNE releases delicate synth-layered roots pop single, 'Over Thinker'
Cairns’ singer/songwriter GEORGIAXBYRNE dives deep into a delicate new release, ‘Over Thinker’, which intertwines soft pop soundscapes with poignant lyricism, striking a chord and staying true to Georgia’s sincere style.
An adoring follow up to recent release “365”, the track offers a fresh taste of what’s to come from her upcoming EP ‘All The Things I Never Said’ due for release later this year.
‘Over Thinker’ is gorgeously layered roots pop, awash with a gentle, lush bed of pads, birdsong, and simple, rounded bass, all to support a close-sounding, plucked acoustic, and Georgia’s confident vocal delivery. Not relying on heavy production allows the listener to focus more on the story Georgia conveys, pouring her heart out over a toxic relationship. It’s not fair that heartbreak can sound beautiful.
Speaking on the themes of ‘Over Thinker’, Georgia explains that it is a track that is raw, honest and cuts deep.
“This track encapsulates a more vulnerable side of a relationship and shows themes of mental health and losing yourself whilst trying to love someone who was only toxic for you,” she said.
A force in the local Cairns scene, Georgia was awarded a Regional Arts Development Grant (RADF), bringing her creative visions and stories to life.
Since landing on the scene in 2020, GEORGIAXBYRNE continues to impress industry and fans alike, climbing the Spotify ranks with just under 80,000 streams collectively.
Drawing influence from leading alt-pop acts like Mallrat, and Fletcher, GEORGIAXBYRNE has pioneered a unique sound with flourishing synths and soaring harmonies.
Keep your eyes peeled for the EP to be released later this year, but in the meantime, ‘Over Thinker’ is available now to stream.
