Brisbane's Lucid Safari have entered the chat with killer indie reggae debut EP, 'Delirium'
Australia is a hot-bed of indie reggae acts that have a distinctive sound, much like So-Cal, or NZ reggae have their own, and you can add Brisbane’s Lucid Safari to the list of talent, coming out swinging with their debut EP, ‘Delirum’.
Already attracting the ears of radio, both nationally and in the US with singles ‘Lady’ and ‘Liquid Dreams’, Lucid Safari - the project for songwriter Daniel J Lewis and his roster of local musicians - display a level of musical maturity that generally takes a few years on the live circuit to solidify.
‘Delirium’ is an eclectic collection of five solid tracks that have been cleverly segued together (not a common occurrence in our heavily single-focused consumption of music), that blend indie flavours with reggae-rock soundscapes, moving from solid grooves, to fuzzed-out rock, and in to flowing beachy vibes.
If you’re a fan of Sticky Fingers early catalogue, Ocean Alley, or on the more local front, the likes of Fat Picnic, Kureelpa Reach, and Bearfoot, Lucid Safari’s coastal indie reggae tunes will be one to add to your playlist (and must-see list).
‘Delirium’ is streaming on all digital platforms now.
