Shen Panthers deliver ode to the longing of being at music festivals with new single, 'Hey Friends'
Get all your mates, grab a few coldies and gear up for Shen Panthers latest release – ‘Hey Friends’; a blissful festival-inspired track that echoes what all music punters have missed throughout the world’s shitty hiatus – getting a bit silly and having a ripping time with your mates.
Delayed guitar washes and pans from the start, before a blast of indie surf rock slaps you on the back, hands you a beer and says ‘Hey Friends’ in a sing-along chorus. There’s a big mix of older Ocean Alley meets Beddy Rays in this new single from Shen Panthers.
Shen Panthers are a 4-piece surf-psych rock band from Coolum Beach, QLD Australia. They have been busy throughout 2021 crafting a unique set of tracks for their upcoming debut EP which is set to be released late 2021.
The EP blends a variety of influences from the boys’ upbringings to create a curious mix of delicate and mellow sounds intertwined with heavier elements throughout. ‘Hey Friends’ is the first single off the EP and gives the world a taste of what’s in the pipeline.
The band will be doing a run of shows on the back of the single release, kicking things of at The Village Festival in Yeppoon sharing the stage with Bootleg Rascal, Loose Bricks plus many more.
