Brisbane's Patient Lounge show their vision of epic progressive rock with latest single, 'Vivid Eyes'

Brisbane alt-rock band, Patient Lounge, are following up their last epic track ‘Useless’ with hard-hitting, progressive-rock tune ‘Vivid Eyes’.

Rock vocals pulsing through the veins of this tune, driven by an arpeggio guitar riff that Andrew Stockdale would give the nod of approval for, ‘Vivid Eyes’ fools you into a groove, and in true Patient Lounge fashion, they flip the switch on the initial concept of the song, and we end up progressing through different scenes of a 7 and a half-minute mini rock-opera.

The newest single, engineered by Bernie Wedrat (Chris Lord-Alge, Tom Lord-Alge, Michael Brauer) at Lush Recording Studios (The 1975, The Butterfly Effect, Katy Perry) and mastered by Ted Jensen (Billy Joel, Green Day, Mastodon), will be released digitally on 29th July.

‘Vivid Eyes’ is Patient Lounge’s heaviest track yet, with stadium-sized riffs, pulsing grooves, rumbling low-end, a chorus that soars and a crushing crescendo, showing off the bands musicality and incredible song writing chops. Never one to shy away from their own musical evolution, Patient Lounge truly come into their own with this new track, bringing their trademark authenticity into the recording process.

Amongst the oceanic swell of heavy guitars, shredding leads and machine gun fire drums, singer Zach Eather defiantly chants a call to arms, “They say you better march to the beat, never step out of line, but I’ll stand on two feet and I’ll play out of time… But a leash makes me bite, it’s a constant remind, they’ll fuck with your dreams, just open your eyes,” giving the listener a wake-up call to live their own lives, without exception.

“The song is about not letting anyone choose what your future should look like. We are told by family, friends, partners, school, what we should be doing with our lives and more often than not, it ends in a life lacking purpose. Fuck that,” said Zach of the new single.

Patient Lounge are also in full swing with their recently launched fan mailing list the ‘Inner Circle’, giving fans access to specialised merch, VIP tickets, early access demos of new songs and many other exclusives. To be in the Inner Circle, fans can go here: www.thepatientlounge.com/subscribe
