Brisbane-based producer/songstress The Letter Elle has delivered a slamming, funky, empowering new release in ‘Be Your Lady’ - a song that embraces femininity, and finding confidence through a fun and flirtatious storyline of a woman finding the balance between a love interest and independence.

There’s a lot of modern Motown creeping in, with such a soulful chorus, a fat, rounded bass that sharpens into some dirty, bright funk, R & B piano, some cheeky Nile Rogers-ish guitar, all over a slamming pop beat. But it’s The Letter Elle’s hooky vocal delivery that grabs you - from the sultry beginning to the full tilt pop diva choruses.

It’s fun, vibrant, funky and powerful, with a hint of nostalgia.

Of the track, The Letter Elle said that the song is set from the perspective of someone who has just met a new love interest.

“Be Your Lady is ultimately about having confidence as a woman and feeling in control of your life and relationships. The lyrics are based on the lustful thoughts and scenarios that are often experienced at the very beginning of a new relationship,” she said.

“I wrote this for those people who just need that reminder that they can take control and put themselves out there to new people.”

The Letter Elle worked alongside long time collaborator Harry Fox, co-producing the entire piece. Recorded between both their home studios, featuring uniquely crafted production elements such as pots, pans and sticks, the pair created an organic energy complementing the soft electronica.

‘Be Your Lady’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
