The Sunza Beaches deliver roots and harmony-driven debut single, 'Exile' and accompanying film clip
Sunshine Coast outfit, The Sunza Beaches are bringing all the good vibes and smiles with their debut single, ‘Exile’ along with an accompanying film clip. A somewhat amalgamation of singer songwriters, featuring Kimbal Imaz, Lex Bielby and Mickey Gee, The Sunza Beaches bring an eclectic mix of influences together, shake them up, and bake them until well done.
A mix of folk, roots, funk and blues, with plenty of vocal harmonies, parts of ‘Exile’ bring to mind the feel-good classic ‘Send Me On My Way’ by Rusted Root, mixed with a bit of Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland’.
The film clip for ‘Exile’ was shot in a 360 Virtual Reality (VR) in which the band describes as a funky little shack.
“It’s like a video Where’s Wally, with a bunch of little easter eggs hidden throughout so you can hunt them down and find all of our silly moments,’ the band said.
Live, The Sunza Beaches imbibe rich four-piece harmonies, along with multiple instrument-swaps throughout the set, swinging between genres like a virtual musical time machine, showcasing their musical tastes and influences spanning the decades.
In the words of the band, the songs are campfire anthems, dance-floor jams and festival bangers.
