Brisbane's John Keenan brings a slice of Americana-folk with new single 'Tired Eyes'

Devoted singer/songwriter John Keenan welcomes his poignant forthcoming release Tired Eyes. Romantic on the surface, the track features layers of lyrical depth and existential themes.

An older track of John’s, ‘Tired Eyes’ has been reworked and shaped in a more Americana-style song, evolving from its original acoustic roots. Lazy-styled, haunting pedal steel guitar weaves in and out, with John’s warm vocals providing a beacon to keep to on this musical journey.

A third of the way through the song, there’s a modern touch with the super-low bass giving depth, along with the slow, shuffled drums, and the complementing emotive vocals from one of our faves, Nicole McKinney.

The heartfelt single shows a warmer side to John Keenan, with the Brisbane songwriter dedicating the release to his partner, and giving a glimpse of treasured moments they have shared.

“Tired Eyes is about creating lasting moments with a lover and embracing the present”

“It’s a reminder of how quickly life can pass us by”

Recorded in Brisbane’s Hunting Ground Studios, produced by Luke Woollett, Tired Eyes has matured into a stand-out release for John.
