Christian Patey delves deep in to new EP, 'Faces' - playing Solbar on May 14th.
Christians latest EP ‘Faces’ tells a story and an insight into a friend's passing, mental health, a surreal Covid new world, IVF worries, social media addiction, validation and trying to reach goals and following your dreams while keeping a positive outlook and vibe.
The music was inspired and written to play live. With comparisons to Foals and Crooked Colours it’s an experimental collection of songs with guest appearances from Dorah Jacson and help from Touch Sensitive playing bass on his track ‘Paradigm’ it’s a fresh expression from Christian.
Electro, pop artist Christian Patey has been joining forces with electronic producers from across the world to create a new, effortlessly cool sound for himself.
He has collaborated with Jimmy2sox (one half of Flight Facilities) UK beat-maker Alabaster, well known Brisbane lads Yes You, and in 2018 landed a vocal sample on Rae Sremmurds album Sr3MM (The Weeknd,Pharrell, Travis Scott) also had his vocals sampled on PARTYNEXTDOOR'S album PX3 with credits along side Drake.
Christian is reeling from a massive 2019/2020 of shows and single releases and writing/producing. Previous singles like 'Is This Real' saw him get premiered on Triple J and added to rotation on Double J, followed by two other singles ‘High’ and ‘Cant Get Enough’ both played Triple J Unearthed along with three east coast tours. Following sold out TASH SULTANA, BOOSEEKA, Thundamentals, Tora and Noah Slee support shows and festivals.
Christians track 'Critics" has been another great track for Christian landing him a play on Triple J and added to triple J unearthed Radio.
Christians second single 'Paradigm' which Touch Sensitive helped out on was released Jan 1st Christian sold out his single launch show on the Sunshine Coast with his 4 piece band and toured Tasmania.
Christian’s second EP ‘Faces’ is set for release May 7th with an east coast tour kicking off on the 14th of May at Solbar (Maroochydore).
