Breakups suck. And with Valentine’s Day been and gone, Cry Baby has you covered with the perfect anti-valentine song, Best Of Luck, out now.

Cry Baby sure knows how to turn a sad breakup song into a cool af bop, with dreamy pop synths, 808 beats and lyrics that’ll help you say, ‘bye Felicia, best of luck with that.’

“This song is about that moment when you realise that your mental health and happiness is way more important than the love you feel for someone, so you choose to walk on by and wish them luck,” said Bek Winnett, the Sunshine Coast artist turning the time-old insult ‘Cry Baby’ into her superpower.

“Girls are conditioned to believe that someone wanting and loving us is the be all and end all, so we tend to lose ourselves in the other person and hang on too long! It can be really hard, but it’s empowering to choose yourself and leave the relationship.”

Written about the ex she started dating on Valentine’s day, Cry Baby said, “Not to throw shade on love, but Best of Luck is a great anti-V Day song for people who are going through a breakup or are single on this ‘day of love’. I still find Valentine’s Day tough, and want others to know they’re not alone in their heartache.”

Following her catchy self-titled debut, this is the second single from Cry Baby’s breakup concept EP, which is due for release this year and features production by her brother, Judah Winnet and collaborations with AYLA, Christian Patey and Lunar Phase.

Whether it’s a bouquet or a box of tissues you’ll be reaching for this Valentine’s Day, Best Of Luck will make you want to cry, dance - and most importantly - not care who's watching!
