The Letter Elle shares poignant new single, 'Faithful'
Sunshine Coast songstress The Letter Elle has released a new single, 'Faithful,' a moving track about overcoming doubt and negativity in love.
Featuring crisp R&B-inspired percussion and The Letter Elle's trademark vocal layering, 'Faithful' is a deep dive into the angst of overcoming the doubts put on your relationship by others. "This song is based around myself and my partner (big surprise, I know). But it’s also about much more: it's about the way that people treated the relationship when it began because we were so young. We both knew that we wanted to spend our lives together early on (I met him when I was 17) and a lot of people kind of treated it as just a ‘young romance’ sort of situation. Now, people see us as the partnership that we are, but it’s interesting how when you’re young people just assume everything is a ‘phase’."
It's a song that The Letter Elle has been quietly perfecting, but never been ready to release, for years. "I wrote it in my production class, and it is one of the tracks that really motivated me to become a producer. This track has evolved with me as a songwriter and the reason it took so long to get out was because it needed to grow with me." It certainly demonstrates another step up for the young artist as she continues to prove her production prowess and expand creatively.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, The Letter Elle has managed to craft an immensely successful 2020 already. Her most recent single, 'Sunrise' received plays on triple j Roots 'n All and reached the top of triple j Unearthed's 'Roots' chart after premiering with TheMusic.com.au. It has already amassed nearly 5k streams on Spotify and earned praise from tastemakers such as Music Is My Muse and Good Call Live. This was all in addition to her selection as one of the Brisbane City Council QUBE Effect finalists earlier in the year.
The Letter Elle is fast becoming a staple in the South East Queensland music scene - do not miss her rise.
