NEW RELEASE - QMA-winning Oh Harlow deliver strong statement in clip to latest single, 'Don't Open That Door'
2020 Queensland Music Award winners for Best Country Oh Harlow follow up their Top 3 Music Network Country Hot 50 smash Give It A Miss, with ‘Don't Open That Door’, the second single to be lifted from their self titled debut ep.
‘Don't Open That Door’ is about someone who is hella flakey and feels they can enter and exit your life whenever they please without consideration of your feelings. It's a strong statement of don't mess around here, “until you're sure Don't Open Up That Door”.
The music video was shot on Queensland's Sunshine Coast by Jay Seeny from Blacklist Productions, "The concept of the moody song was brought to life through our first time use of actors in addition to special effects", Said Bri & Ti.
Oh Harlow jumped into the country music world four years ago. Passionate about country music, but determined not to box in their creativity, the sister duo have been honing their song-writing craft and refining their sibling harmonies to create their own genre-crossing original music. Their music highlights this with influences from Americana, country, folk and pop in each catchy new song they create.
With Tiana on guitar and Briannah on bass, the Sunshine Coast girls began writing in their early teens after a long period of chronic illness which prevented them from attending school. This health journey in their youth gave them maturity beyond their years, which is showcased in their songs through their storytelling. From softly sung songs about love and loss, to falling for someone for the first time or simply celebrating good times with friends and loved ones. Their upcoming self-titled debut ep comprises songs that are real, relatable and oh so catchy.
Now young adults, Oh Harlow are building a solid fan base with captivating performances of original songs that deliver catchy melodies and clever lyrics and showcase their musicianship on acoustic and bass guitar and of course, their rich sibling harmonies.
The last 18 months have seen Ti & Bri collaborating with artists as diverse as Brad Butcher, Caitlyn Shadbolt and Blake O'Connor.
Their debut ep was released late February and has been receiving high praise from the broader music industry.
