NEW RELEASE - Dear Doonan ask 'How Do You See?' with new single
Those purveyors of eclectic indie/psych rock, Dear Doonan, have been busy while we’re self-isolating, bringing out the trippy new single, ‘How Do You See?’.
While their previous release, ‘Sweet Quiche’ was a light summery groove (with a cool rollerskating video to boot), ‘How Do You See?’ dwells into the darker side, taking on a 70s Turkish Psyche Rock influence.
Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Zachariah Norton leads the band into a new realm, taking charge and showing the rest of the band Wonderland, using a traditional Turkish instrument - the baglama - as the vessel for this trip.
It does appear that the message of the song is to wake up, and pay attention to what we have been used to, summed up in this one paragraph -
‘We have been conditioned in our devices. Money and technology drive us blindly forward. When disaster strikes we become lost. With only your third eye to guide you, ask yourself, “How do you see?”.
