Lunar Phase trick or treats with emo electro pop single, ‘Halloween’

Sunshine Coast independent artist, Lunar Phase summons his darker side with his brand new single, ‘Halloween’, launching on October 31st - expressing his emotional phases dealing with the constant changes of life through forever evolving sounds.

‘Halloween’ sees Lunar Phase (aka Jye Pouzet) teaming up with Hardstyle producer, Sierra Blue (also Jye’s cousin, Jarn Koromilas) to bring together a series of sonic twists and turns in this dark ‘emo electro pop’ track, with pulsing house beats, and reverb-drenched vocals.

Lyrically, Jye says the track was written about a relationship, that despite all efforts, just could not get to work.

“I think we all go into a dark place at some point, when a long term relationship falls apart, particularly when it feels you have done everything in your power to win this person back, making sacrifices, but you end up bringing back to life a ruined relationship that ends straight back up in the same place,”

There’s a lot of imagery conjured through the metaphors in the lyrics, with the relationship described in the track being reflected with the underlying commercial meaning of Halloween; it’s sweet, scary, and horrible all at the same time.

With thrusting, melancholic, reverberated vocals on top of swirling ambient synths, Shoegaze/dream pop guitars, fast hats and slapping 808’s, ‘Halloween’ is the follow-up to Lunar Phase’s previous singles, ‘Grieve’ and ‘Paradise’.

‘Halloween’ will be available on digital streaming services on October 31.
