Sunshine Coast Music News, April 13 2018
Cooler weather's coming, but the music's heating up.
This weekend, catch The Moonsets (tonight, Solbar front bar), The Bad Dad Orchestra (Solbar main stage), Pandamic/Walken/Beddy Rays and & Muules (Saturday night, Solbar main stage), Fish Out of Water (USA) with Mufassa and Love Inc (The Shared, Sunday), and Alex the Astronaut/Stella Donnelly (Solbar, Sunday night).
Not to mention Mojo Burning in Brisbane (at the Hamilton Hotel) featuring some Coast acts as well - Hobo Magic, Hat Fitz & Cara, & Fight Ibis.
Busy as.
Those that were thinking about going to Thundamentals at the V Room, you may have waited a little too long - it's now sold out. We'll be sending one of our talented photographers to capture the night though, so you can live vicariously through their lens.
Feeling the need for some Pink Pills? Well, good, because The Mavis's are BACK and celebrating the anniversary of their mega album. They'll be heading to The V Room on May 5th.
Coast punk dudes, Not To Regret have announced a hefty show at Solbar on April 27th, and it's a family affair with supports Absolem (singer Leah is the sister of Not To Regret's Tim), Muules (drummer Nick is also NTR's drummer), and Spew'n (featuring NTR's Tim's brother-in-law, Steve on bass). You can feel the love.
Fans of Australian Indie legends, Bluebottle Kiss, will be happy to know that BBK's Jamie Hutchings has a new solo album out, and is coming our way to play Bison Bar on April 21. We figured we'd get someone who knows Jamie quite well to do a Q & A in the lead up. You can read the interview that Josh Lee from Hope Springs did RIGHT HERE.
Big Pineapple Music Festival just surprised everyone by announcing two more acts added to their already chockas line-up - Pandamic (who are playing Solbar this Saturday night), and WA's Slumberjack. Good news for those who got tickets, because this festival is SOLD OUT. Dammmmn
Caloundra Music Festival will be dropping their first artist announcement this coming Monday, so stay tuned for those juicy details.
