BIGSOUND 2025 has come and gone, and through a flurry of showcases, we were able to get our photographer, Ross Jenkins (aka @founding_photos) to try and capture as much as he could on night 3 (Thursday night). Now for those that have been to BIGSOUND, you will know how hard it is to dash between showcases, line-up (particularly for the buzz bands), take in as much as you can, then move on to the next one. So, kudos to Ross for getting in as much of night 3 as humanly possible (catching The Southern River Band, Darcie Haven, Heartline, Rageflower, Sleepazoid, and Ruby Fields).

After more than a decade, five albums, and countless shows across Australia and beyond, HOLY HOLY—comprising producer and composer Oscar Dawson and songwriter and lyricist Timothy Carroll—have announced they are going on hiatus. Completing a massive run of shows through May and June, wrapping up with shows at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, and Caloundra’s Kings Beach Tavern. They made their way to Maroochydore’s Solbar on June 22, along with Western Australian alt rock lot, Late 90s, and tore the roof off the place. Tinariwen at The Triffid, Brisbane - June 6, 2024

Tinariwen, a collective of Tuareg musicians from the Sahara region of northern Mali brought their blend of desert blues, a combination of traditional Tuareg and African music, with guitar-driven Western rock music, to the Triffid in Brisbane on June 6 for a full-on SOLD OUT show.
