Wollongong five-piece outfit, Left Lane inject a tonne funk-fused psychedelia into their modern indie-rock sound on their latest outing, ‘Salted Caramel Macaron’.

Taking influences from the likes of Wolf Alice, King Gizzard, and Foo Fighters, Left Lane collect all these sounds, bundle them up and fuse them together into a uniquely groovy, indie sound with a twist of math rock and psychedelia.

‘Salted Caramel Macaron’ is super-gooey groove-indie that oozes fuzzy licks with crunchy beats and a swirling, hypnotic vocal delivery. Like a merging between the psych-brit rock of The Stone Roses, and the sweeter, more atmospheric tones of The Clouds, with a touch of earlier King Gizzard thrown in, Left Lane have baked up a modern highway song, streetlights blurring in the windows as the track bounces along at cruising speed. It’s chewy alt/indie that goes down easy.

Of the new single, the band explain that “‘Salted Caramel Macaron’ is all about dopey giddy feelings, where powerful emotions of love and longing are converted into a light-hearted and optimistic atmosphere…leaving you with all the warm fuzzies.”

The band have already clocked up shows with the likes of Maddy Jane, The Lazy Eyes, Death By Denim, Sesame Girl, as well as clocking up a few tours.

Left Lane’s songs shift from soft and emotive moments, to punchy exclamations, driving rock beats and the occasional ripping solo that listeners of Aussie Indie-rock know and love. The stylistic contrast of grunge-tinged rock sounds to groovy and bittersweet indie has nestled into ears and imaginations of their loving following, with the aim for Left Lane to spread these vibes as far as they can go.

Left Lane have been busy cooking up tracks in the studio, with ‘Salted Caramel Macaron’ the first taste of what’s to come.

“Salted Caramel Macaron’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
