Lime Cordiale share the 'Facts of Life' in latest single and tour announcement.
Lime Cordiale are back in business with a brand new single, ‘Facts of Life’, and to celebrate, the band have announced the ‘Facts of Life Tour’ through May, which sees the band take in Wollongong, Sunshine Coast, Kingscliff, Hobart, Adelaide, and Coffs Harbour, before they embark on a massive 29-date tour of the UK and Europe.
‘Facts of Life’ is a happy, rounded groove, featuring a bouncing bass line that could be best described as the perkier, upbeat cousin to Tame Impala’s ‘The Less I Know The Better’. It’s a sunny track, with slackly strummed guitars, a sprinkling of keys and mellotron (listen for that in the bridge), with the Leimbach brothers adopting some Hall & Oates with the vocals, yet the track stops short of being too cute.
Produced by David K Haddad, the latest dose of breezy surf pop is the Leimbach brothers first new standalone single since 2020. “You can read about the birds and the bees all you want but it won’t make a difference to how you feel in the moment. Get kooky and make mistakes because these are the facts of life,” says Oli Leimbach of the single.
“The song is about the feelings that surround new experiences. That fresh excitement that surrounds being young and naive, soaked in sexual tension is something to cherish, “ adds Louis Leimbach.
The new music follows on from Cordi Elba, their acclaimed collaboration with actor/musician/DJ and record label boss Idris Elba. The mini album debuted at #9 on the ARIA album chart and spawned the hit singles Apple Crumble and What’s Not To Like, which landed at #14 and #41 on the triple j hottest 100 respectively.
With James Jennings (drums), Felix Bornholdt (keyboard) and Nick Polovineo (trombone, guitar), rounding out the touring band, their live performance is the stuff of legend. Their shows have been touted as “raucous” by The AU Review, and “triumphant… a therapeutic musical extravaganza guaranteed to cure those post lockdown hangovers” by Beat. Always high octane, front man Louis is the ultimate showman, as the brother’s distinctive vocal and on-stage charisma sets the ultimate party vibe.”
