Melbourne's Lili-Violet releases powerful, darkly energetic indie-pop single, 'Anxiety'

Melbourne-based indie-pop artist, Lili-Violet digs deep and produces an immensely powerful new single in ‘Anxiety’, a follow-up to the enigmatic and slower-paced ‘She’, released last year.

‘Anxiety’ is a powerful indie-pop track; deep, dark, yet showing off immense energy. Embracing a mix of traditional rock instruments with layers of synths, Lili-Violet, teaming up with Jarred Young and Alex L’Estrange, pull together a multifaceted sound that becomes more immersive and addictive on each listen.

The middle section, breaking down to a half-time beat, gives the listener a small moment to breathe, before a massive peak and stadium rock ending. Vocally, Lili-Violet shifts from coffee shop corner crooning to full blown indie pop diva with ease. It’s a massive track that, being the third release in three years from this artist, shows a hefty musical evolution.

The single itself, as Lili-Violet explains, touches on the devastating physical symptoms of mental illness.

“To me, ‘Anxiety’ is bringing an upbeat tone to feelings that can really debilitate and ruin a person. Every time I play this live I get an amazing response from the audience and I cannot wait to share it with the world,” she says.

Lili-Violet debuted in 2020 with the release of her single Doesn’t Mean You’re Lonely. Lili then followed up in 2021 with the release of her single She, which was aired on ‘Roots N All’ on Triple J for International Women’s Day.

‘Anxiety’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.
