Gold Coast's MAD WXRLD tackles inner demons in latest single, 'Fly Away' (Featuring Dream Aladdin)

Gold Coast artist, MAD WXRLD delves into their past struggles with anxiety and depression, while pushing love away in the process, in her latest single, ‘Fly Away’.

Accompanying the single release is the music video, which MAD WXRLD presents as a song for all the people struggling with they inner demons. Inspired by true events, the video portrays the feeling of being alone no matter who is around.

Resting on a nylon-string guitar loop, ‘Fly Away’ builds a solid RnB-Melodic Trap blend, but goes easy on the hi-hats, instead letting the solid beat and bass blend drive the track, letting MAD WXRLD and guest artist Dream Aladdin to carry both melody and atmosphere. Substituting pads with manipulated vocal tracks through pitch shifting and heavy reverb and/or delay gives an interesting and slightly haunting texture.

MAD WXLRD backs up her releases, having 4 sold-out shows during 2021, and two appearances on Dats It Australia Podcast, she also notches up several big support slots, as well as being a finalist in the Gold Coast Music Prize.

Drawing influences from a diverse list of artists, from Kid Laroi, Juice WRLD, Lil Uzi Vert, to Doja Cat and Cow Leray, MAD WXRLD brings her listeners a sexy & euphonious sound, infusing the flavours of Melodic Trap, Rap, Hip Hop, RnB, Pop and more.

‘Fly Away’ (featuring Dream Aladdin) is out now on all streaming services.
