EMECIA, Adelaide's post-hardcore quartet are back to give the world 'Afterlives', their new single and video. The song, about taking opportunities and second chances has rolled out and is available now.

The Adelaide-based Alternative Rock outfit combine elements of Post-Hardcore and upbeat Punk Rock to create their captivating sound - and this new single ‘Afterlives’ is no exception.

From the get-go, we’re blasted with such a heavy-rock riff, not over-produced, and letting in the raw grit and biting strings, and vocalist Scott Middlin’s pure hectic energy barraging through (with hints of Bert McCracken peeking out). You can almost feel the sweat and blood gushing out in this track.

According to vocalist Scott Midlin, this new single is about "...being given an opportunity by someone and persevering no matter how many times you feel defeated. It's about keeping positive vibes, as well as looking after your mental health."

The quartet debuted in 2013 with their EP ‘Pariah’, are renowned for their high-energy live show, and have honed their craft by playing countless shows locally and abroad on many tour circuits, having played alongside heavyweights such as Closure In Moscow, In Hearts Wake, Allday and Chiodos (just to mention a diverse few.)

After a huge 2018-19 under their belts due to the release of their debut album ‘Familiar Spirits’, Emecia are determined to make 2021 even bigger - bolstered by a new line-up, new music and more chaotic, high energy shows to come.

‘Afterlives’ is out now now on all streaming platforms.
