JaZZella aims big and scores with killer debut single, 'Shoot'
Sunshine Coast-based Indie-pop songstress JaZZella has locked, loaded, and fired off a killer debut single, ‘Shoot’ - channelling some Amy Winehouse into a smooth, soulful groove.
It’s another killer track coming from the musical melting pot of Yama Nui studios here on the Sunshine Coast.
Lo-fi, yet round hip-hop beats, super-smooth, fat bass, chiming airy synths, and jazz chords all bubbling nicely under JaZZella’s vocals, which sound a hell of a lot older than her 23 years. It’s a voice that has been honed for two decades.
Of the track, JaZZella says she hoped the song would inspire, empower and encourage anyone who may be experiencing low self-esteem, self-doubt or self-confidence to believe in your dreams.
“Shoot captures my heart, personality and message in one tidy little song with a ribbon on it. It's a pure message from the optimistic and light side of my personality to the darker side of myself that appears through tough times when I can't see clearly and lose sight of who I am and where I'm going,” she said.
JaZZella has been writing and performing music since the young of age of just 14 years old and has supported the likes of Delta Goodrem and Kate Ceberano.
Inspired by artists such as Amy Winehouse, BENEE and Mac Miller, her unique brand of Indie Pop comes alive with vivid story-telling, original flair and catchy melodies.
The talented songstress recently entered the studio to record her debut album, which is set for release later in 2021. The album was written across multiple countries whilst she travelled the world in 2019.
