Sunshine Coast electronic synth-hop group, Fringe Mellow bring a deep cut, with new release ‘You Don’t Need to Listen’.

The single sees Fringe Mellow collaborate with River Suite Orchestra, bringing sweeping orchestral strings together with old school hip hop flavours, and a catchy auto-tuned chorus.

Having been a dream of Fringe Mellow producer, Henry’s to have one of his productions transcribed in to a live strings arrangement, ‘You Don’t Need to Listen’ takes inspiration from early dance classics by Soul II Soul, and combing with the likes of Moby, and The Streets, the River Suite Orchestra without a doubt enhances the productions of the Fringe Mellow sound, and compliments the emotion of the lyrics.

The pressures of lockdown in 2020 really inspired Fringe Mellow vocalist/songwriter, Lance, to contemplate the information he was taking in, resulting in the conversation that this track presents.

Of the track, Lance says ’You Don’t Need to Listen’ celebrates having a choice. ‘The reality is the majority of us have choices around the information we consume. Whether it’s a friend, relative or even the government, quite often people want to tell you how to live your life,’ he said.

‘You Don’t Need to Listen’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
