'The Way You Think' is a hefty slab of fuzz bass-driven dance punk, tackling the inner thoughts we all have in relationships; the actions we do, and the words left unsaid.

It’s a musical slap to the face, with a little touch of synths to soften the blow. Featuring guest vocals from Jess Lean (The Brains Trust), Muules deliver ‘The Way You Think’ with a no-go-slow approach.

Bassist/songwriter, Rhys Fox said that though the band is more known for their bass-orientated grunge sound, it was fun putting together a song that brings out unexpected influences.

“Deep down, we do love dirty, dance-y pop rock, and ‘The Way You Think’ definitely has some nods to early 2000’s Australian alt-rock pop….really, when it comes down to it, most of us just want to dance - having been stuck in an almost Footloose-dystopia for the past 8 to 10 months” he said.

Muules have released a few stand-alone singles since the dreaded COVID put a dampener on the industry, but ‘The Way You Think’ is the first taste of the band’s debut full length since the single, ‘Deeper’ (released in 2019).

Produced and mixed by thefoxiam, and mastered by Paul Blakey (12th and Vine), and taking influences from Dukes of Windsor, Rogue Traders, Nine Inch Nails and Royal Blood, the new single shows a slightly lighter, bouncier side to Muules.

‘The Way You Think’ releases on digital streaming platforms right now.

Catch Muules at Solbar on March 12, teaming up with Von Hazeler and Swimsuit Issue. Tickets to this show available here.
