Ayla's back with a little bit of 'Small Talk' for us.

Queensland songstress Ayla reveals emotionally charged new track ‘Small Talk’..

Ayla’s storytelling prowess takes pride of place on ‘Small Talk’s rumination of sad goodbyes. Highlighted by minimal production featuring solemn drums and guitar; her yearning voice showcases her incredible vocal capabilities.

On her thoughts of the song, Ayla explains "I was afraid of the rawness of Small Talk when I first wrote it, but I’ve gotten more comfortable with that and also found new meaning in the song."

Known for melding melancholy with uplifting arrangements, her sound is reminiscent of Lana Del Rey and Florence and the Machine. In 2014 her breakaway hit ‘Wish I Was’ made the Top 15 most played on triple j of that year. Striking a chord internationally, the track was remixed by electronic mastermind Spada, amassing almost three million streams on Spotify. Growing a slew of online attention she was invited into the triple j studio for their acclaimed ‘Like A Version’ segment the soon after.

Since soaring to new heights and musical maturity her most recent 2018 release ‘Let’s Talk Monday’ EP featured fan favourite ‘Like The Other Kids’ which has alone garnered over one million streams.

At home in the live circuit, the singer-songwriter has spent the past few years honing her craft in front of audiences here and abroad, performing at numerous festivals including Festival of the Sun and Caloundra Music Festival, playing high profile supports for Kate Millar-Heidke, Asta and Husky, and touring through the UK and Netherlands.
