Monolith Festival - Karnivool, Cog, Ocean Grove and more, Eatons Hill, August 13

Prog lovers around the country have been waiting for this line-up for over a decade, and Monolith delivered the goods at Eatons Hill on August 13, with the return of Karnivool and Cog, along with Ocean Grove, Plini, Sleepmakeswaves, Reliqa, and Yomi Ship defying the odd sprinkle from the heavens above and bringing the alt/prog goodness in spades.

The rain did make the instrumental-based acts, Plini, and Sleepmakeswaves’ sets more poignant and moody, but cleared up just in time for Ocean Grove, amping up the energy with a little help from frontman Dale.

The crowd swelled for the appearance of Cog, with the Australian prog legends playing an epic set under a full moon, making way for the Karnivool juggernauts.

The crowd were purely there for the music, no bullshit, just super chill and appreciative.

Thank you, Monolith Festival.

*Unfortunately we missed Yomi Ship’s set.
