Airwaves Festival, Nightquarter, March 27

The very first Airwaves festival happened in peak COVID weirdness. It was among the first drive-in festivals and hosted the likes of The Dreggs, Sahara Beck, The Chats and more.

With a few false starts (again, thanks to COVID restrictions), the second instalment of Airwaves finally took off at Nightquarter on March 27. Originally to be a two-day festival, due to the re-scheduling, it was compacted in to one big day (and luckily, just before the Greater Brisbane lockdown), featuring blistering sets from Sneaky Sound System, Paces, The Beautiful Girls, Ash Grunwald, Flaskas, Peach Fur and The Oogars, not to mention the epic afterparty featuring Niki De Saint.

With uncertainty with unpredictable changes in restrictions, mini-festivals like this could be the norm for a bit, and nothing wrong with that.
