JaZZella funks with our hearts with flirtatious new single, 'You Ma Dude'

JaZZella - the Sunshine Coast soul/pop songstress - has knocked it out of the park again with a new single (her second), ‘You Ma Dude’, which has been featured by Caloundra Music Festival, as well as premiering on Double J.

‘You Ma Dude’ is a flirtatious love song that introduces a dynamic and tasteful blend of funk and jazz into the RnB/Pop world. Written by JaZZella and co-produced alongside ARIA winning producer Paulie B at Yama-Nui Recording Studio - the surfy essence of the Sunshine Coast is all over this track.

The track slinks in with a vinyl crackle and a smooth bass line, introducing JaZZella’s softly-syncopated rapped vocal, before we’re dipped into a dreamy, gooey mix of funk soul. The dance-funk verses kick it up a notch, with funk-fried bass and superfreak keys. This will be a killer track on a big stage.

JaZZella will open the 2021 Caloundra Music Festival ‘Soul Stage’ with You Ma Dude - 2 weeks post release on Saturday the 2nd of October at 12pm. This performance will launch JaZZella’s Spring Tour - featuring performances at music festivals and local venues along Queensland’s East Coast.

This young musician is ready to take the music industry by storm with her surfy/soul original songs and wild electric guitar skills.

Of the track, JaZZella was spawned from a lonely late night solo jam.

"I wrote You Ma Dude in my bedroom one night when I was having a lonely little late night jam. I created a rough demo of the song on my laptop and took it to my band rehearsal the next day to show my friends. All of our plans went out the window because as soon as the band heard it - they loved it!!!

We sat in my drummer’s hot little back shed in the middle of summer and played the song over and over for about 6 hours We laid down the bass, keys, guitar and drum stems on my laptop and from there I took the bones of the track to my recording studio so that I could finish producing it with Lord Tanuki Himself.”
