Friends of Folk tour series comes to Solbar Sunday July 4 with Hello Jane, Anna & Jordan, Freight Train Foxes
The curator of Friends of Folk, a new tour series is a Brisbane-based Singer/Songwriter Hello Jane. After great success from her previous tour series ‘A Songwriter’s Summer’ where she gathered with local songwriters and new communities across Southern Queensland, Hello Jane is back to bring to life the beauty of raw and uncomplicated folk music.
She will be joined by two of Queensland’s finest folk acts Anna & Jordan and Freight Train Foxes for their show at Solbar in Maroochydore starting at 4pm.
The show will be filled-to-the-brim with storytelling, sing-a-longs and heartfelt moments, with each act intertwining a collection of their own original songs and their most beloved folk tunes.
Tickets are $15, doors at 4pm, and you can purchase your tickets by clicking here.
Hello Jane’s songwriting specialty is candid lyric and perfected storytelling when it comes to matters of the heart. Her most recent single ‘Something Else’ has gained much success with National Radio Play and an overwhelmingly warm response from the country music scene across Australia.
Anna & Jordan have been described as the "epitome of original folk", telling their stories with their original songs and enchanting their listeners with their flawless harmonies. As finalists for the World/Folk Category at the Queensland Music Awards (2019) and performing at many exciting festivals including National Folk Festival (ACT), Illawarra Folk Festival (NSW), Caloundra Music Festival (QLD) and many more, it is no wonder that they are so beloved by audiences across Australia.
Indie-folk duo, Freight Train Foxes, are built around the talents of Brisbane singer/songwriters, Pat Kenny and Kelsey Berrington. Armed with the sonic influences of Passenger and Stu Larsen, the pair wield their unique brand of suburban acoustic folk, that manages to both wound and soothe simultaneously.
