With a world of music experience under her belt and returning from 3 years in the U.K, Queensland songstress Layla Kay is set to make waves amongst her beloved Australian music scene once again. From her debut performance amongst crowds at Woodford Folk Festival to landing Caloundra Music Festival, Layla's captivating essence continues to blossom within her new sound that is set to soar.

Introducing her latest release I'll Be Lonely, the track dives into emotive themes of heartbreak. Full of 90s nostalgic soundscapes and waves of ethereal synths, Layla Kay wrote the track during lockdown whilst living in the U.K. Teaming up with Gold Coast producer Dylan Lindquist (SOFT NYLON, Pure Milk), I'll Be Lonely was brought to life over internet airwaves in a modern day collaboration. Mastered by Hit The Road Music in Morocco, the stellar release is an international project.

A fresh sound for the songstress, the contemporary release is a strong comeback for Layla. After a releasing hiatus, Layla Kay is paving a new path for her upcoming tracks that differ from her folk/acoustic roots. With success from her previous discographies, I'll Be Lonely is a nod to Layla's roots and a smile to her future style. Combining songwriting depth with sparse pop production, Layla Kay has created a remarkable blend.

"I'll Be Lonely is a lyrical reference to heartbreak. It's an observation that if a lover leaves, I'll be lonely, if only for a while".

Drawing influence from 90s pop and lyrical themes from poignant songwriters Roy Orbison and Kate Miller-Heidke, Layla Kay's signature sound shines throughout this release. Hypnotic and catchy, I'll Be Lonely is an exciting step forward and a glimmer of what is yet to come from Layla Kay.
