Oskar Campbell (formerly of Dosed) has definitely found a new groove, evident in his latest offering, ‘My Fantasy’.  While there’s still hints of Red Hot Chili Peppers floating through this track, it’s definitely drawing influences from Dire Straits, SVR, and has a distinct 80s soul/blues rock flavour throughout.

Going into his deepest thoughts for words, lyrically the song is about letting go of false concepts and preconceived ideas that may have been unintentionally picked up over the years.

Of the song, Oskar said that sometimes a song really does just writes itself, and you just get to enjoy the ride.

“I was just jamming on my guitar when I started playing the main riff and that’s when the whole song sort of just poured out of nowhere,” he said.

‘My Fantasy’ started as an idea in Oskar’s mini bedroom studio, evolving into a fully written and demoed song in a matter of hours, before taking full form under the guidance of Brian Goodworth at Bigrock Studios (Coolum). The single is a taste of what is to come from the next, as-yet-unreleased EP.

‘My Fantasy’ is available on all digital platforms now.
