Agnes Blue release their new track ‘Invisible Man’, and will donate all proceeds to Support Act & the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service.

Formerly from Murukutchi (Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast QLD) and now residing in the Northern suburbs of Naarm (Melbourne), rock duo Agnes Blue have announced the details for their next single release, titled ‘Invisible Man’. The band is made up of siblings Jack Blandford, who plays guitar and sings, and Frea Blandford on the drums.

‘Invisible Man’, which is riff driven, yet euphoric and expansive in a way, features the debut of Frea (drums) writing lyrics for a track. Frea wrote the lyrics some time ago for a project whilst studying music performance, and Jack arranged the music and wrote the guitar and bass parts. Normally left to write the lyrics and music, Jack has taken a step back from writing this one, but is still featured singing on the track. The lyrics are loosely written about having someone leave your life, when you weren’t quite finished getting to know them yet. It describes heartache and the confusion that comes with never quite getting to know someone the way you wished you could.

Agnes Blue have taken an extended break away from touring and recording for some time, but released their single ‘Wasted’ in December 2018, which saw it played on community radio stations all over the country. They played only 2 shows in support of this release, one show at The Tote in support of WAR (Warriors of Aboriginal Resistance) and a second show at The Solbar in Maroochydore supporting Pandamic & Boing Boing.

With this release the band was hoping to get back into more regular live shows, however this has been all put on hold given the current circumstances. ‘Invisible Man’ was recorded and mixed with legendary Sunshine Coast Producer/Engineer Brian Goodworth at Big Rock Studios in Coolum Beach, and mastered by Paul Blakey from 12th & Vine Post. The song clocks in at just over 4 minutes, and is as uplifting and gentle as it is powerful. The incredible engineering work by Brian Goodworth has brought out the amazing tones of Jack’s guitar sound/vocals, and is well complemented by the immaculate and huge sounding drums on the track from Frea.

Agnes Blue will be releasing the track for purchase on Bandcamp, and donating 100% of the revenue to VAHS (Victorian Aboriginal Health Service) to help with the incredible services they provide and also to Support Act, which is Australia’s only charity delivering crisis relief services to artists, crew and music workers as a result of ill health, injury, a mental health problem, or some other crisis that impacts on their ability to work in music. The track will be available on Bandcamp from Friday 4th September, and available on all streaming platforms from Friday 2nd October.
