Quizmical, known for being the bassist/producer in Sunny Coast funk/hip-hop outfit, In2nation, has done a sneaky at brought out a solo single, ‘Tough Times’ - being about our current state of disorder in a time of uncertainty for all.

Quiz has a positive message mixed within the truth and despair, though.

The producer wrote the track after watching our current situation all unfold, and witnessing how slowly we reacted as a country to this pandemic, and reflected on what we are having to deal and cope with.

It’s been at least two years since Quizmical released his solo EP, ‘Demur’ - an eclectic mix of genres and styles that are true to his heart & soul - and during that time, he has felt his inspiration stagnated, but continued to push forward for other artists & clients by writing, recording, producing music projects, as well as video production.

Quizmical said it took something of this magnitude to pull at his strings and get his mind active again.

‘The video clip was done as a last minute thing, and there weren’t many opportunities for me to go roaming around collecting cool footage from wherever I wanted, due to our current lockdown rules,’ he said, also adding this track was a good time for a quick collaboration.

‘On the choruses, I have a guest vocalist, Triz, who had never recorded before, even after living with me for many years - this is Triz’s first ever feature spot on a track, and he did a great job.’

‘Moments later, I shared the track with (DJ) MOFO, and he decided to drop some scratches of the vocals on the track, and then BOOM! We got this track!’

Quizmical is dropping both the downloadable single, and the film clip to ‘Tough Times’ today.
