Blending nostalgic shades of 90s alt-rock and a distinct Queensland grit, glasshouse's newest single 'mote' conjures up images of sweaty head banging and cold beer.

'mote' distils a powerful live atmosphere, overflowing with hard-hitting vocals and satisfyingly distorted guitars into a potent grungy brew.

Donning both a Dinosaur Jr t-shirt and Fender Jaguar in their latest music video 'hello' - featured on ABC's rage. The band's previous single 'pulp' received kudos from Triple j and Unearthed presenters:

"Can easily see the front few rows banging their heads along to this one"

- Declan Byrne

"Gets big and crunchy in the spots you expect. Real solid from this band"

Dave Ruby Howe

'Mote' feels both familiar and new; sounds of the past following their inevitable transformation and reinterpretation for fresh ears. Working with legendary local producer Darek Mudge helped with this tremendously. Darek, having worked with Violent Soho and Tired Lion has a wealth of experience in fostering Queensland's freshest talent.

Starting with 'A sigh says how you must feel / So hold your breath to feel yourself' 'mote' represents the best of detached, yet relatable lyricism ala J Mascis.

It also hints towards more modern issues of toxic masculinity, with Caleb singing after a chorus 'your dad says to do it silently / close your eyes on a big, big world.’

Coming off the back of their 'pulp' single tour late last year, glasshouse are keeping the momentum going with eyes set on a big 2020.
