HATERS bring the heat with third single, DEAD - playing 10 Bury St on December 4

Today, garage punk duo Haters unleash their ferocious third single DEAD and the tracks accompanying video via Hello Gardener. Following the release, frontman/guitarist Jai Sparks and drummer Jimmy Priest will storm the stage at 10 Bury St in Nambour on the 4th of December & King Lear’s Throne in Brisbane on Saturday 5 December.

Volatile, fearless and loaded with candid lyricism, DEAD chronicles the fallout following Sparks’ treatment for an undiagnosed mental health condition. “Sometimes, your brain just lets you down, and you have to deal with the consequence,” explains Sparks. “The main line of the song sums up this period of my life pretty clearly – I had to stop getting fucked up, around the same time I start losing friends, I don’t think I’m me anymore, at least I’m not fucking dead.”

“I’d been playing upwards of 100 shows a year in a wild party band and in order to cope and really continue to survive my illness, I had to change. I don’t blame anyone for walking away. Recently, I’ve found my feet again, both with this band and the people who I get to be around now. They’re smart, gentle, wholesome and most importantly badass and weird,” he adds.

DEAD follows on from heart breaking lead single Feel Better , their short and aggressive second single Haters, and marks another defiant moment from the Queensland pair. Formed just over a year ago, Haters have already received spot play across Australian community radio and spins at US college radio. Renowned for their untamed and frenetic live show, they’ve built up a loyal following across Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, selling-out their last two performances.
