Prepare for a LOT of hustle 'n' groove with The Rumbrellas and more at Imperial Hotel
THE RUMBRELLAS, ARABESK and DAN HORNE will take to the stage in The Bunker for 'HUSTLE n' GROOVE' at the Imperial Hotel Eumundi on Saturday 12 January 2019.
THE RUMBRELLAS are a three piece explosion of funk, soul, reggae and hip hop from the Sunshine Coast.
Fronted by Ryan Giles, principle songwriter, together with drummer /producer, Mark Paltridge and Justin Wernicke in charge of all things guitar and bass, The Rumbrellas have drawn inspiration from the sounds of the late 80s to mid 90s hiphop and indie world.
Groove-heavy beats, infectious melodies, coupled with intelligent, positive and conscious song craft make it impossible to stand still.
The Rumbrellas have been working on their debut full-length release, so expect a tasty offering of what is to come…
ARABESK will lift your spirits with a touch of tango, reggae rhythms, jazz flavoured funky beats and even a traditional waltz! Australian songwriting award winners (2011, 2017) and finalists in the 2017 International Songwriting Competition, Arabesk have been bringing original Australian music with their own special brand of global grooves to audiences since 2003.
In recent years Arabesk have performed at music festivals including Wangaratta Jazz, Hobart's Clarence Jazz Festival, Palm Creek Folk Festival, Manly International Jazz Festival and Parramasala. They recently performed at the 2018 Takatsuki Jazz Street - marking the band’s fourth visit to Japan.
Arabesk are Rob Shannon (guitar/percussion), Veren Grigorov (violin), Tom Wade (bass) and Calvin Welch (drums).
