Bearfoot return with new track 'Luminate' off forthcoming album and announce massive tour.

Follow the rabbit’s track with Bearfoot, as the Sunshine Coast roots gurus "Luminate" your life with their new single, reminiscing of the time spent in their own wonderland. The song sets the scene early, describing the journey the band took in February 2017 as they were invited to be a part of famous New Zealand biennial music festival, "Luminate."

For vocalist Asher Chapman, the ska-tinged, roots-heavy tune is a reflection of events of his first trip to the land of the long white cloud. “We had all piled into this van, driving from Christchurch to Takaka Hill, but due to an earthquake prior, the standard route to the festival (which would only be about 5 or 6 hours) was cut off, meaning that we had to take the longer inland route. Having left the airport at around 4pm that afternoon, due to that detour (where we saw amazing scenery) it was getting close to 1am when we saw the turn off for Takaka Hill. We’re all tired, slightly delirious, and have no idea where we are; we’re in this van climbing up this windy road, which turns from smooth bitumen to loose gravel, then all of a sudden, this rabbit appears out of nowhere, turns and looks at us, and instead of hopping off the road, it races up it, so we follow it and the next thing we see is the signs for the festival,” he explains

The song is dedicated to the time at the festival, and was recorded at Yama Nui Studioon the Sunshine Coast, with long-time collaborator Paul Bromley. "Luminate" brings together Bearfoot’s sunsoaked-yet-dark take on roots, reggae and dub, and mashes in hints of ska and vocal harmonies influenced by New Zealand’s best, along with a blistering drum break from drummer Sean Keenan.

The single is another tease for the long-awaited debut album. Catch Bearfoot in support of their new single, along the East Coast from November through to February.
