The Steele Syndicate release 'Sedona' EP ahead of tour - playing Peregian Originals on Dec 9
Saddle up, we’re going on an adventure. Sedona, The Steele Syndicate’s spicy new EP is a 5-track compilation that reflects the dynamic emotional range and energy of their music. Steele McMahon’s Brisbane-based octet is raucous, punchy and fun, with a genre-bending sound that reimagines elements of old school funk, reggae, ska and indie rock.
Since their formation in September 2015, The Steele Syndicate have entertained at packed out EP and single launches at The Triffid and The Zoo and made their mark at a number of SouthEast Queensland’s best venues. The band are now heading back on the road with a massive run of tour dates through November and December, in celebration of their upcoming release.
The Sedona EP tour will be the band’s biggest yet, spanning the Sunshine Coast to Melbourne and a host of venues in between. Mcmahon explains; “Taking such a large band on tour is a logistical nightmare, with eight people in the band it always keep me on my toes trying to keep track of them. But it is also a dream - being able to bring our full live set experience with us is incredibly exciting.”
Sedona was engineered and produced by Tyson Ruth at Studio Truth Brisbane and mastered by Brock Weston. The Steele Syndicate’s intricate, ambitious release fully immerses the listener in the riotous energy of the band’s live performance, and is more impressive seeing it performed up on stage – dance moves included!
The Steele Syndicate’s second EP is set for release this November 9. The upcoming record presents the band’s evolved, energetic sound, continuing its natural development since the successful release of their debut EP Antipodes in August 2016. With the addition of the dancey upbeat love song “Sesame Street” and simmering bluesy contemplation of heartbreak "In The Dark", the Sedona EP promises a brilliantly cacophonous ride through a multitude of soundscapes.
You can catch The Steele Syndicate at Peregian Originals on December 9th, and also catch them at The Triffid in Brisbane, when they team up with the Coast’s own Bearfoot.
