Get your knees up! QLD International Ska & Reggae Fest is back!

SUNNY COAST (3).png

Clear your schedule for Sunday 29 July - the QLD International Ska & Reggae Festival is back in Caloundra!

As usual it will be a wonderful Sunday session of live Ska & Reggae music, family friendly vibes and great Caribbean food at Caloundra Power Boat Club, Golden Beach, starting at 1pm.

There is yet again another top line-up of music for this amazing event. Local Favourites The Sunny Coast Rude Boys will be filling the dance floor, as always, with their classic 2Tone & Ska hits from the likes of The Specials, Madness and The Beat, but this time joined by the one and only Nicky Bomba (Skank master of the Melbourne Ska Orchestra... Move orientator for Bustamento... Riddim deliverer for the mighty Bomba.. and previous pulse setter for none other than the John Butler Trio!!)

Yamini will bring their cool reggae vibes to kick off the day, with a few familiar faces in this exciting new reggae outfit.

Spinning classic vintage vinyl throughout the day is the Boom Boom Sound System crew, bringing their sounds from London's Notting Hill Carnival direct to us here on the Sunshine Coast.

To finish off the day is a high energy 8 piece band The MadTones. Fronted by KazMan (Dubmarine), this band of raggamuffins draws on influences from Jamaican music, Motown and the South Pacific. The MadTones play an upbeat mix of reggae, ska and soul. Their style is unique and quirky, reflecting the band’s vibrant personalities. A warning to those experiencing their first MadTones live show – you will find yourself getting swept up in the euphoria of happy fun times, with a crooked smile on your face boogying down with random strangers. They actually challenge you to not dance - a task you will find impossible to do.

Sambazzy will add a huge splash of colour with their vibrant Brazilian dance costumes and troupe of latin drummers.
