Sunshine Coast Music News, August 18 2017
Awww yeah. Sunny Coast cooking up the good stuff. Tonight, Los Scallywags, Fight Ibis, Stork, and Fragile Animals at Solbar; tomorrow night, The Twoks return, along with The Moonsets at Solbar, with TOWN in the front bar, Aussie World Shed will host Locals Live feat. Roustabout, Black Banner, The Chats, Illicit Symphony, Pith Helmet, and Love You More.
And Yandina puts on a display this Sunday with their annual Street Fair, with acts such as THUMP, Landerz-i, Andrea Kirwin, Barry Charles and more, for free, and family-friendly. Boom!
MMVAF is inching closer and closer, with only just over two weeks and it's here. The final run of tickets are on sale now, so if you want to catch Alison Wonderland, The Presets, Bernard Fanning, Gang of Youths (new album is superb, btw), Horrorshow, Skeggs, Mallrat and a whole heap more, then be quick and click here!
Young buzzband dudes, Fight Ibis announced their debut East Coast tour this week, covering 16 dates (one was on Tuesday, another tonight), and not only that, have dumped another filmclip on our digital laps. You can watch the clip to Nazi Art here.
Another act disappearing on a lengthy East Coast tour is Bearfoot. They've already smashed their Solbar, Brisbane and Gold Coast dates, and this weekend head over the border for three shows in Northern NSW, before heading to Sydney and Melbourne. Their new track, 'Crazy For You' (feat. Andrea Kirwin) is going great guns right now too, sitting at #2 in the Roots charts on Unearthed. Haven't heard it yet? Click here.
The Floating Bridges continue their 'Power' tour as well, heading down to Gold Coast to play Miami Marketta tonight.
Nu-metal groove merchants, New Clear Vision unleashed their brutal debut album this morning. Featuring hectic cover art by Rob Stanley, the new album is as abrasive as it is groove-fuelled. It's available on iTunes, Bandcamp, and more, plus stream via Soundcloud, Spotify etc. Local PR, Dangerous Tourist has been handling their distribution, and a quick look on the Dangerous Tourist Insta sees them teasing another act, Muules - an alt-rock band, showing of some pre-production clips. Looks like we should expect some studio stuff from these guys soon enough too.
Speaking of studio teases... High Tropics showed a quick clip this week, wrapping up drum dubs at Heliport. Should expect new stuff from these rockers soon.
Another alternative act, Deadly Tide just dropped a tune onto the interwebs. Very early 90s-sounding aussie alt rock in the track, 'New Way Out'.
The Shoe Boycotter himself, Matt Stillert keeps popping up, then disappearing, then BOOM! Back with new releases. Head to his Soundcloud now, to check it out.
And finally, KUDOS has punched out a brand new banger. 'The Rhythm' is now streaming via his Soundcloud too. Head here to have a listen.
