Sunshine Coast Music News, May 24 2017

Wooo! Big weekend coming up with the 2017 Big Pineapple Music Festival taking up our Saturday. Of course, it's sold out, but for those that were lucky to score tickets, don't forget to check out/support the locals playing on the day (Fight Ibis, Bearfoot - both on the main stages - High Tropics, in2nation, Buck Dean & the Green Lips, and The Hi-Boys). Also remember the official AND unofficial afterparties happening on Saturday night (Solbar, The Basement and more all hosting ones).
Friday night, get your absolute rock on at Solbar with Hobo Magic back in the area, with Transvaal Diamond Syndicate, and Los Laws in the back bar, or chill in the front listening to Jordan Merrick, and Chris Flaskas.
Saturday night, if you're not at BPMF, check out Sunny Coast Rude Boys at The Yacht Club for some decent ska intake.
Elsewhere this week - Thursday night catch Mika Scene at Solbar, Andrea Kirwin Duo at Cafe Le Monde, and for some Sunday sesh's, Bri Green at Cafe Le Monde, The Cumquats at Alex Surf Club, and Tim Solly & Zac Gunthorpe at Solbar.
AYLA's recently released 'Shallow End' - a fantastic track from the singer/songwriter - has been added to spot rotation on Triple J AND she's just announced an accompanying tour through June, with the closest to us being Black Bear Lodge in Brisbane on June 30th.
Three piece indie reggae dudes, DOSED have finally released a proper version of 'Reason to Smile', which is up on Soundcloud now.  If you've been craving a bit of Sticky Fingers-ish type of material of late, then get into this here.
Pete Allan's come up with some big news of late...  formerly The Pete Allan Band, it has now transformed into the Pete Allan Collective. Pete's got another trick up his sleeve though, with a brand new clip coming this Friday. Keep an eye out for that.
Singer/Songwriter Mark Moroney came out with a tear-jerker of a track and clip last week in 'Paper Planes'. Got us right in the feels that much that we made it our clip of the week (on the front page).
Another new track that got our attention on Unearthed this week is 'Dreamstate 9' from Madison Square Lounge. If you're up for some electro-pop/reggae grooves, then check that one out here.
We've also noticed that metallers, New Clear Vision have been added to the ShredFest 2017 line-up, held on August 25 at The Back Room. They join a 32-strong line-up, with 4 massive headliners yet to be announced. Nice one!
The guys in Bearfoot announced they'll be heading back out on the water, playing the next A Set Adrift in June. Tickets are on sale now and are extremely limited. Head here to secure yours now.
And The Point, being The Point, we often get sneak peaks of new material...  we know that The Floating Bridges' new track, 'Power' is being toured over in WA this week (and they'll be headlining the next Full Moon Dance as well), and we heard a decent chunk of the track in the studio over the weekend. Bridges fans will be right into this.
We also heard as-yet unreleased Khan Harrison Band material, with some very surprising results (some of the snippets we heard have the band going on some slightly darker/harder sounds, without losing that Khan appeal).
