Sunshine Coast Music News, April 13 2017

Happy Easter to our Coast muso's and music-lovers alike.  Don't forget to check out the annual Ocean Street World Festival happening on Easter Sunday right in the middle of Maroochydore's entertainment precinct - Kallidad, Sun Salute, Sex on Toast, Fat Picnic, The Brains Trust... the list goes on.  Head here for the program.
Tonight, Sun Salute will be at Solbar for an epic North QLD reggae session.  These guys had a massive Peregian Originals last Sunday, and are keen to keep the party going.
This Saturday night will also see TOISOC return to their ol' stomping ground, playing Solbar with Los Laws, and The Chats.
A whole heap more gigs going on this weekend, just head to the Gigs page.
It was announced early last week that those legends in Grinspoon are back, and will be celebrating 20 years of their debut album, 'Guide to Better Living' with a huge tour, including a stop-over on the Coast to play the V Room in Noosa on August 17.  Tickets are pretty much flying out the door though, so you need to be quick with this one. Head here for tickets.
Also just announced, Dead Letter Circus coming back to give the Sunshine Coast some love! They've had great success with their 'Endless Mile' Tour, reimagining the debut EP and more, but now they're ready to get their heavy on again.  Keep June 16th free for a visit to ye ol' Solbar.
Our prog-gypsies, All Strings Attached have packed their bags and have headed to Canberra for the National Folk Festival, with their new album in tow.  Wishing ASA the best of luck at this event.
BIGSOUND Applications have opened, and as always, you have to be in it to well, 'win' it.  Always good to sign up to Q Music anyway.  Get your applications in NOW.
Now for new releases -
We've heard that two-piece/three-piece/four-piece... act - Whiskey & Me have finished recording their debut EP, and we should be seeing signs of that very soon.
Brand new Hobo Magic music for you as well.  Only these psych/hard-rock legends would have the balls to release a single the same as their name.  'Hobo Magic' by Hobo Magic dropped this week, and it's a corker.
It's the second single from their upcoming album. Click here, press play, and have your speakers up loud.
Following on from that, Coast heavy-hitters Holistic have resurfaced in a big way.  A new direction for the band, which sees them leaning a little more in the direction of Northlane. We're definitely digging this new track, 'A Beautiful Indifference'. Watch/listen here.
And for a bit of a come-down after all that hecticness, have a listen to this track from LOLA, called 'TV Girl'. It's up now on Triple J Unearthed.
