Sunshine Coast Music News, Dec 9 2016
Hot damn, it's a hard one to choose from tonight. OKA up at The V Room Noosa, Bullhorn at Solbar, bit of a Brains Trust treat in Ocean Street Markets, Annie J & Fusion at The Imperial Hotel, Pete Allan at The Yacht Club, TOWN & Dear Willow at Renae's Pantry (The Lane), Palmwoods... list goes on. And that's just a Friday night.
Tomorrow night, let's see - Lanks & Hein Cooper at Solbar, Sunny Coast Rude Boys at the Bunker at Imperial Hotel, Barry Charles at the Yacht Club, Mick Medew (The Screaming Tribesmen) with a solo show at The Bison Bar as well.
And also, the last Peregian Originals for the year featuring Fat Picnic, Jesse Morris Band, and Annie J & Fusion. Nice.
Floating Bridges fans, they're releasing the new track 'Finer Things in Life' very very soon, and they'll be celebrating with a launch at Solbar next Friday night (Dec 16) with Highlife and The Brains Trust. We'll have a Q & A with the lads soon enough.
However, do also remember the annual Point Party (A Not So Silent Night #5) is on NEXT THURSDAY night, featuring performances from Bearfoot, in2nation, The Perries, All Strings Attached, Pete Allan Band, Not To Regret, Fight Ibis, and The Quakers. If you've been to one before, you know how epic these nights are... and if you're a new comer, oh man... party pants on. All this in the BACK ROOM at Solbar from 7pm.
Violent Femmes have announced a tour, and guess what... they're coming to the Coast as well. They'll be playing The Shed at Aussie World on April 1.
Big news yesterday too, with Dead Letter Circus announcing The Endless Mile tour, in celebration of the anniversary of the debut EP. DLC will be doing a re-imagining of the tracks (so, Lines, The Mile, etc). Unfortunately, no Sunshine Coast stop, but they'll be playing The New Globe Theatre in Brisbane on March 2.
And lastly, Dead Kelly fans, rejoice... for the balaclava'd ones have finished up their next album. We're anticipating a rise in sales of blue bonds singlets and stubbies in the lead up to the launch of the album on January 26.
