Sunshine Coast Music News, Dec 22 2016

2016, what a weird ol' year you've been. On a global scale, it's been downright harsh to the industry, but locally, man, we've seen the rise of amazing new talent, and established acts coming out with fantastic new music.  From all of us here at The Point Music News, we wish a very safe and happy Festive Season, and here's to what looks to be a kick-arse 2017.
Now to the news - Tonight, TOWN will be popping their Solbar cherry (and worthwhile checking out... such an eclectic take on music), and Hayden Hack over at the Maroochy Surf Club, and Old Soul at Nook and Cranny.
Tomorrow night - Owen Campbell up at the V Room in Noosa, Dream Thieves with Buck Dean & the Green Lips at Solbar, Kim De La Haye & Dr Dom at the Bunker at Imperial Hotel Eumundi, and that's just the tip of it. Whole heap more gigs listed on the Gigs page.
Massive props to the crew behind the next, newest mini-Festival on the Sunshine Coast coming up - Monsoon Rock. March 4th at Lake Kawana Community Centre will see Regurgitator, King Parrot, Frenzal Rhomb, Osaka Punch and more team up with Transvaal Diamond Syndicate, Hobo Magic, Not To Regret and more for a massive day of alt/heavy stuff. For more info (including tickets) head here.
The Lyrical have put out a wicked new film clip to the single 'Help Them Pray', which is simple, but oh so clever. Nice work, Karl & co.  You can watch the clip to 'Help Them Pray' here.  Also, the single recently hit #1 on the Unearthed Charts (Roots).
