And here comes the Bigsound hangover...
What a huge week last week was. Bigsound, MMVAF, Full Moon Dance, and more. Feeling a little dizzy.
This week though... still amazing. From the Jam (with Bruce Foxton) kicks off the week on Wednesday night at Solbar, followed by Dear Willow's single launch, Alex Lloyd, Tramfest, Kallidad, Pop Cult, and more. Always check the Gigs page for details (and the new feature of adding any of those dates to your own mobile calendar as a reminder).
The opening date of The V Room in Noosa is fast approaching, with the launch featuring DZ Deathrays, Columbus, and Walken. Tickets are available through the links here.
While at Bigsound last week, we were lucky enough to hear a snippet of the upcoming Floating Bridges single. They've gone back to their reggae roots (pardon the pun) with Finer Things, and they've put the call out for fans to help them with their video. Want more details? Head to their page.
And while we weren't looking, new stuff was dropped!
Dear Willow's single 'When It Burns' has been released onto the internets and is a cracker of a song, with EmJ's pop/folk sound given a bit of edge. Beautiful harmonies and solid drums abounds. Have a listen here.
Pete Allan's 'Ripples' EP finally came to life, and in a big way with a launch at Solbar last Saturday night. Nice grooves with a hint of Jack Johnson vibes and beach-influenced choonz, you get a copy of Ripples through most digital distributers, like iTunes.
Then those electro-dub gurus, Dubarray released a new single and filmclip in 'Paradise', which will get you all blissed out. Check the clip here.
And by some weird chance, during Bigsound, outside of a bus parked in the middle of the Valley Mall (for performers), we caught up with our old mate, Jen Mize, who's new single 'Deepwater' is premiering right now via Rhythms Magazine. Such an intense backstory to this song (which you'll read about in the prior link), and this is the first single from the upcoming album 'Warnings & Wisdom'.
And, Lifeboat... what are you sneaky little musical ninjas up to? We've seen some hints of some kind of filming in progress. C'mon, guys... spill (actually... 7pm tonight, apparently all will be revealed).
Our artists are killing it in the Unearthed Charts right now, with Ryan Delaney having three tracks in the Roots Charts (including 'Riot Club' sitting at #2), AYLA's new one, and more.
